I’m curious if there are studies showing how cell replication halts during DNA repair, at least in the cells being repaired.
Hence why I said humanity’s DNA may have prioritized aggressive proliferation over stopping growth to repair DNA.

Autophagy and its DNA repair can be suppressed during cell division/growth.
