If you are going to carry bear spray, you also need to carry supplies to clean yourself if it gets on you: water, handkerchief, baby shampoo. I'd also advise shooting off a canister or two of inert training spray to test your carry setup and familiarize yourself with the safety/trigger mechanism and the spray pattern.
