We absolutely need more progress on opening up hardware. We shouldn't try to compete on hardware at all. We should fight as a collective unit to make hardware an impossible attack vector.

That’s a tough one tho, as competition breeds innovation.
We aren't in a stable market environment where competition can flourish. We are in circumstance where we must establish a scenario where govts lose resource capacity to attack theoretical choke points. Hardware is tricky due to major sunk costs etc
