While marijuana is certainly fruity pebbles for your mind, photos like these are taken with a scanning electron microscope, so are therefore black and white, later colored artificially for the "I love science" crowd.

While the microscope may only produce images in black and white, that does not mean that there is no color. My perception prefers this reality
I don't know the size scale of this image. But it's quite possible it's showing features that are smaller than the wavelength of visible light; visible color is a phenomenon with a minimum size.
We can just multiply the wavelengths by N and normalize to see them in color 😉
Light is stupid and annoyingly slow anyway.
