In Bitcoin we also have "Everyone is a scammer" that @Bitstein unfortunately popularized. My personal philosophy is way less conflict prone, I wish for environments that are nurturing... rather than always needing to be on the lookout. But to build those environments we do need better protocols... so the only thing I can tell you is to keep building and keep going. As you say in your note - do not fall for "if ever does it, why not me"... that's how you lose your true self and become what you shouldn't be.
