I'm still just researching/experimenting but a few ideas that can work alongside each other:
- Mesh routing (just locally announce to the network), works for a few hops
- Source routing, harder route-discovery but interesting options like (paid!) onion routing. Nodes can verifiably announce their paths to relays known by both the sender and receiver.
- Landmark routing, where you define a general direction with the packet. A bit like how physical home addresses have number, street, zip, city, country
interesting
I've tried to google landmark routing but didn't find anything, is that technique used somewhere?
can you combine source routing with landmark routing? If these things are what I imagine they are it should be possible and would be quite a powerful combination
