Can’t remember exactly when I first heard about it, probably podcasts or YouTube videos… it was probably the combination of being a bit of a nerd and it looked interesting, combined with dissatisfaction with some of the more dystopian/Orwellian shifts happening in the UK/West at the moment which feel like you can’t politically vote your way out of them. You can still vote with where you spend your time/energy/money.

There’s a lot I love about the UK, so ideally, but we live in interesting times so who knows. Nostr is totally blowing my mind… it’s actually brought the fun back into social media and doesn’t feel like such a rigged game… still struggling to articulate exactly what it is, but it feels very different in a good way. How are you finding Nostr?

Freedom protocols like Nostr are changing the world for the better. We have a long way to go but every journey starts somewhere. It’s great to see freedom loving people here from all around the world.

Wow what a portfolio! Reminds me of what I enjoyed so much about physical 3d design and workshop time

Rad! 🤘🏻✊🙏🏻 And thanks for the kind words! It’s a pretty special era to be making things; whatever your preference of tools/materials/output.

thanks! that's kind of you. what kind of stuff are you working on these days?
Hey there! Pleasure to meet you and exciting to start finding other makers here. How are you finding Nostr?
Hello. Been on here a few years. A smaller community for sure, but more real and honest. Obviously there’s the bitcoin thing, but underneath all of that just people sharing and looking for help and answers or buying from each other. Welcome, love your work and what you’ve shared. Out of my league, I’m more a functional maker and tinkerer. Hit me up with questions, happy to help as most here are.
I’ve been messing around here on Nostr for about a year now and already love it. Really interesting to hear how others are finding it. Thanks for the kind words, and to be fair I’m just a functional maker and tinkerer too brother. Doesn’t matter if I’m making a shelf or something electronic or more artistic, it’s all tools, materials, processes and ideas… with a bit of love mixed in there too.
Good stuff. I occasionally make some more involved projects like my #shakerchair and #sheshed But mostly just making stuff I need, or modifying stuff I have to be better. For close to two decades I ran a top-10 ultralight backpacking blog and was a gear development advisor to the industry, that was a lot of fun. Oh and I’ve designed and produced dive watches.
