Jumble is pretty good too. Wisp or Jumble (for those who want or need more platform support) are my go to clients right now. I haven't tried them all though. I'm only speaking on what I have tried. There are probably other good clients out there.

This summarizes my experience with Primal every time I've tried it over the years. It's slow compared to everything else I've used, which is weird given the tradeoffs they make. Shouldn't it be faster? I didn't think to record until about 30 seconds of loading. I gave up and closed it. This is the same story on multiple devices over multiple years. Maybe it's me, but it only seems to be me on Primal. I can get things to load eventually, but the issues eventually show up again, usually as a sluggishness that makes the app a literal drag to use. I went in to drain my wallet but figured I'd see if the latest update was better than those in the past. Not really. I honestly can't understand how anyone is still using it. I'm not trying to be a dick. I know I can be one sometimes. But dude... We have people working for fuck out here (solo people) coming up with stuff that works better. I WANT clients worth paying a Premium fee for, but the ones worth the most aren't getting much funding or offering paid upgrades. And I'm pretty worried about apps like Primal being sold as the one for noobs. In fact, Primal is the reason it took me several times of coming and going before finally discovering other clients and sticking around. I thought Nostr was broken when the issues were mostly Primal. I appreciate the good things Primal has brought, but I don't think it should be recommended to newcomers. It's frustrating to use. Wisp is the closest I've seen to a client I feel I could just hand to a noob and not worry about constant tech support requests. It is what it is.

As far as Android for me it's sort of a three-way race between Amethyst, Wisp and Ditto in roughly that order. Jumble was from this earlier era (mid-2025?) when everyone seemed to agree that "the way you Nostr" is just to subscribe to relay-based feeds. I never got on this bandwagon, which just seems like "Mastodon with extra steps".
I haven't tried Ditto yet. I sometimes like desktop, which is why I ended up trying Jumble. I tend to hold the view that there are multiple ways to Nostr, depending on the functionality you're looking for. Social media is one lens.
I really like Ditto from a UI perspective... I think they nailed that relative to all other clients. My main issue is with the Mastodon bridges (and some other stuff) that seem to be cut out of their feeds...
