Anyone here listening to podcasts the original way with some kind of software that downloads the audio and then syncs it with a dedicated audio player (not necessarily an iPod) ?
If so, feel free to share what you use for software, syncing and audio playing device.

my two methods are newsraft in OpenBSD. The only media player i use on that system is mpv.
on 9front, i use hget and awk to pull rss into a plaintext document with the download url to the media at the bottom of each episode description. hget to download episodes i want to hear, ‘play’ script to listen.

Not using it because I'm only subscribed to 3 podcasts that also happen to have RSS feeds, so I use that instead.
