DMs were never encrypted and still aren’t. No clue about other claims.
I never understood people thinking that proprietary software was in any way private... I think that certain things should be open source before we can give it some kind of trust...

Pretty much. The question is more how many and which ones? Also, through lawful intercepts, from which jurisdictions do they accept requests?
