Per-death math • $6 billion ÷ 500,000 deaths = ~$12,000 per death That’s the settlement’s implied value of a human life. For comparison: • Average #wrongful #death #settlement in the U.S.: $1–3 million • Tobacco settlements: $200+ billion total • BP Deepwater Horizon: $65+ billion Opioids killed more people than *all* of those crises combined.
