Checking in with people must come from a place of care and not be 'lip service' or done 'for the sake of asking'.
There is nothing worse than asking people how they are when you are in a hurry to leave or get off the phone.
If you want to check in: make time, listen and be present.
I mean active listening, not passive listening where you are spending too much time in your head thinking about a response.
Your undivided attention and holding space for them is more than enough.
Empathy goes a long way.

yeah, for me usually trying to see signs of when someone is feeling bad
it takes a lot of courage to approach people when they are going through tough times. Not everyone can hold the space for them and also spotting the signs are not always that obvious or easy π«βΊοΈ
