Yesterday I put J.L.M. Automotive onto the Bitcoin Lightning network via the Wallet of Satoshi app. Colin couldn't use the app until he changed his IP address to a non North American address. Then the Point of Sale feature on the WoS app works.
After a little research the company does say that offering custodial services in the US/Canada would require KYC, which they are unwilling to implement, describing it as "a hill we’re willing to die on."
Wos does have a switch to allow for self-custody.
