I recently bought a stock android for work (refuse to put any work related shit on my main phone) and apparently some newer phones (maybe its a manufacturer thing) dont allow installing of non-playstore apps. Couldnt get Aurora or Fdroid to install. And the toggle switch that you can set to allow it is greyed out.

Any kind of work specific profile on it that's like managed through your office. Maybe it's got some sort of device policy on it that doesn't allow something like that. Otherwise, what kind of device is that? Because I definitely won't be using it. Mind you, I wouldn't be using it anyway because I run LineageOS or GrapheneOS only.
I have not used stock Android in something like 5 or 6 years.
It has nothing to do with my job. The phone is literally mine. As in I paid for it. And it does not allow it. And it not a matter of graphene or lineage. My main phone is non-stock. Not worried about that. What I am saying is Motorola does not allow it on their phones, and would assume they are not the only ones. So those running stock android might not be able to work around it.
