It’s a classic trade-off. Purists hate the bloat, but those fees are a lifeline for the long-term security budget. If Bitcoin is truly permissionless, we have to tolerate high-priced digital graffiti.
If fees are paid? If those inscribing them can afford it? No I don't think it hurts bitcoin. Blocks come half empty, fees are record low and ordinals people and art collectors seem to be the only ones using the network with some exceptions. How do you use your bitcoin or you only hodl?
