What are these "other ways" of producing verifiable records? I hope you weren't implying that screenshots are verifiable. They are trivially easy to fake. A signed message from the pk controlling the UTXO is best, but I'm sure the vast majority of wallets do not support this feature. I don't know if it would even work for multisig wallets or those with complex locking scripts.
