The point is that a block size increase was always meant to happen and there was absolutely consensus around it happening until the *aggressors*, who were the small blockers, took action to change the narrative and block any change from happening. nothing is going to change over time. they don't want anything to change and there is no structure for getting around core except to hard fork.
