Because things are complicated i am afraid. The fact that i know someone to be a real person i shook hands with, does not mean i want to follow their content and vise versa. There is a lot of conflation in a 1 dimensional list of people.

The normal contact list (I assume you mean kind 3) is too mixed or random. Listr.lol doesn’t work? I’m on Safari so nothing web nostr ever works for me so I can’t tell. Looking at the demo I think it needs a more friendly “Discover” frontend focused on social media so you could really discover who is using nostr (the people), I’d like to see more of Artists or Musicians lists, and less of Bookmarks or Relay Metadata lists. I guess listr is more of a generic list management backend, which is also very much needed, is @JeffG still working on it? I’m trying to add this in Nostur and hope more apps add something similar to improve discovery:
