Personal Safety in troubled times.
#1, keep up with the world's current events daily. Spend at least an hour reading through the non-mainstream press and the local press of the areas you will be traveling, living, and working.
#2, keep a small, Get Me Home Bag, on your person at all times. Choose a subdued color that blends in the environment. Navy blue or medium gray or olive drab is good. I use a small crossbody bag.
Contents should have the means to obtain and carry drinking water, food, tools, medication, and fire. Where feasible in a permissive environment, a good strong knife and firearm with extra ammo.
#3, hard cash and coin at least $200.
#4, wear strong walking boots or shoes. If you must wear those darned pretty dressy shoes then carry some real foot wear as well. Same with clothing. Rugged wear is important. A miniskirt or three piece suit is a real hindrance.
A separate gym bag bag would be perfect for this function.
Life is getting interesting fast. You might find yourself caught in the midst of battle flat footed and unaware. Head on a swivel. Stay strapped.
