I'm trying to get paid for my audio services in bitcoin for 5 years now. It worked out only twice. One bitcoiner was born because if it. Which is obviously a good thing. The other person has created a coinbase account, bought some btc and... sent it to my e-mail address. ๐คก
What? WTAF? Yes, coinbase has an option to send bitcoin to any e-mail address. I had to go and create a coinbase account to claim it. ๐ฌ
So hopefully it gets better?
We do not use gold day to day for every transaction, yet it has value.
It's been ten years but no one still "gets" bitcoin. Sayler and a few others are very close.
If the bitcoin community focused on frictionless kyc-free on and off ramping from fiat, it would automaticaly discipline the politicians. Which is the purpose of bitcoin.
A more accessible Bisq, for instance.
Fiat has a proven history of usefullness, arbitration and final judgement between armed or hostile international parties. Fiat is the carrot to the stick of power, and cannot or will ever go away even with bitcoin.
In a free market of currencies, not everyone will want to be in bitcoin, the same way not everyone will like the same restaurant or laundry detergeant, or be Honduran.
