Damus probably has quite a bit of the “kind 1” market and apple’s decision is a set back. Workarounds like zapplepay are clever and I use it but it also creates friction that some users probably won’t pursue. Just my made up speculation.

This. Biggest issue is Apple. They block note tipping and most people aren’t going to go the extra step to tip in profile. Part of tipping is recognition, this disappears with no note tipping. Sad reality… for now.
