GM! Got my coffee, got my codebase that was written pre-AI (gold), and high-priority fixes to implement.
It's kindof nice working on pre-AI code, I spent all day yesterday working on it and didn't touch the AI once. Wild! Haha. Almost like I'm a programmer or something.

I saw a compelling video that highlighted AI use as a new form of tutorial hell. I definitely experienced tutorial hell years ago. The difference then was that it was harder to release garbage into the wild for serious use. Now, those people, even if stuck in a new form of the hell, can release things that seem to work. That's fine for low level things, but imagine it happening for medical devices, airplanes, etc. Yeah, I still want actual professionals who know what the fuck is going on. I'm not anti-AI tools, but none of the serious professionals I know IRL are letting it take the the wheel. They mostly just automate things they already understand and don't want to waste time on. I did something similar with academic research. Sifting through the slop is getting harder by the day. It'll probably get to the point that we need specialized AI just to sift through the AI slop.
