China has condemned the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun calling it “a dangerous and irresponsible move” that “will only aggravate confrontation” and further threaten navigation through the waterway. He emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is a vital international trade route and said the conflict must end as soon as possible. President Xi Jinping also weighed in, stating that “the world faces a contest between justice and power” and warning against a return to the “law of the jungle.”
