Having crews on the ground "in case something interesting happens" isn't the same thing as covering it live. They NEVER carried LIVE, ON AIR, any of his rallies prior to the Butler rally

I realize that’s what the comment says but if you click on any of those links, They are examples of live coverage.
They also didn’t live stream the Butler PA rally either. You can check yourself. Search on YouTube or check the archive. There’s no stream that was specifically for that rally. Obviously as you pointed out they showed some clips from their reporter that travels with Trump as the rally happened live because he was the presidential nominee but that’s it.
They have admitted they were covering Butler differently because they claim that they believed Trump was going to announce his VP. "CNN dismissed Rogan’s claim as baseless, saying it aired the rally solely for expected news on Trump’s VP selection." Interestingly, they didn't have any cameras on the VP candidates (as they do every 4 years).
