I am concerned, though. My bitcoin 'heroes' have aplit down the middle on this issue!! Difficult to know the correct path. So far, I am just 'not' upgrading the node.
I know it can overwhelming at times I choose knots because I believe β‚Ώitcoin is money I earn my income in it and live upon it and i feel as though jpegs and other data shouldn’t be on the blockchain could be another way for that activity not the blockchain and don’t give up run your node of your choice
I run Knots as garbage should be minimized on chain. I want as much friction to this as possible. For the ones that say you cannot stop it, I remind them the failure to patch emanated from Core and Core is now peddling more garbage with op return…….. If they patched it as Luke recommended, at least 120 Gigabytes of pollution would not be on chain currently……. They have shown incompetence in the past and it is no different now…….. I judge people by their fruit…….. Luke has been a fren of #Bitcoin for many years………

True. Thank you. Nick Szabo is on the Knots side, as is Jimmy Song etc. Adam Back & Peter Todd = Core 30, I think. I have listened (ad infinitum) to both sides. I tend to revere Nick Szabo the most, but... I DO like the comparison to email spam filters. Someone said it is an easy fix; just set your Core30 node at 80. Is that true?

For awhile I have been hearing that Core devs are not as good as in the begnning. Still, can't we just 'prune' our node? Are filters the same as censorship? Won't miner fees eventually prohibit stupid uses of the bitcoin blockchan? The genesis block has an image of a British newspaper, right? So clearly, Satoshi thought tgis was also a use for bitcoin? See? I'm on the fence...
