That is what I thought. We have all seen people do that and I wonder why it is easier to look like a total ass than admit being wrong.

It’s like the stubbornness to be right outweighs the importance of the truth. I saw this in myself a lot more when I was younger. For me, I was trying to squeeze agency out of something that was convenient because I didn’t have a lot of control. I’d imagine a lot of these college students feel that way because school taught them to be that way. Good little proto fascists.
