In theory, if millions of people ran nodes and millions of people solo mined, #bitcoin couldn’t be controlled by governments and corporations. But the people failed. There are at best 10,000 nodes, half are captured, and hardly anyone solo mines.

10,000 nodes is a far cry from the millions needed for decentralization. Only 4,300 active nodes are online, with 1,300 in China, making it vulnerable to censorship.
