My browser, firefox (on Ubuntu laptop), didn't load it automatically either for some unknown reason. I did a right-click on the video -> open video in new tab -> copy the URL to the video -> open VLC app -> open Network Stream -> paste -> Play. Obviously most people would not do that just to try to watch a video... but I'm not most people.
