In the case of the Myers-Briggs types themselves, I've taken a test a few times that shows the levels of each 'letter,' and from there, I consider not only the 4, but also characteristics close to other types, since almost no one fits perfectly into one of the 16. Or rather, if you consider it as a quadrant, you fall into the type, but you may also be very close to another type.
