We're getting a partial eclipse of the sun in the UK on Wednesday evening. Around 92% of the sun will be obscured at maximum.
It will be happening right in the middle of the Ventnor Carnival Parade ๐

Check for your specific area, but around 19:15
We have a dilemma, the eclipse will be low in the sky, so we can either watch the parade in town or go up to the local hill to observe the sun.
But because of the carnival, we'd have to take the car early to avoid the road closures.
We're inclined to be lazy and watch the carnival in town and just see the sky get dark.
I saw a full eclipse in 1999 from Thiepval in France.
As this is only a partial eclipse and all the eclipse glasses sold out weeks ago, we are left with using a colander or white card with a pinhole if we wish to observe the sun.
We're only getting 92% here ๐ฅน
