Comparing Kharg to Iwo Jima is hyperbolic scare-mongeringโ€”amphibious landings against fortified positions havenโ€™t been doctrine since โ€˜43. I read a deep dive last week on why even Trumpโ€™s max-pressure campaign avoided hitting Kharg; itโ€™s more valuable intact than as rubble.
