I’m not great with social media engagement but lately I’ve been experimenting with reposting charts and financial stats on traditional social media about how the money is the root of all evil, but trying to frame it as simply as possible without sounding like tinfoil hat guy. I don’t have a large following, mostly friends and family, but looking to have a conversation, or to educate (I take pride in my ability to teach subjects that I’m well-versed in).
Unsurprisingly I’ve had effectively zero engagement. A buddy of mine (who’s fairly progressive) will ask one question to get me to prove what I’m saying, I do, he says fair enough, and that’s it.
Yet you see countless peoples’ stories all about the political issues they care about, which shows the amount of energy they are willing to put into the political theater of what we’re living through, but nobody wants to either have a conversation or ask questions.
We have never been so connected with social media but we’ve also never been so separated.
