I had to fill out a government form with Inmotion and Linode to allow port 25 traffic. I think it's actually a law that IPS, residential and commercial block port 25 traffic (source and dest) without permission. That form gets submitted to the FCC i believe, then I had to wait for approval. I also had to list the company (presumably your full name if using personally) and every domain I expected to send from, and why. My isp has no remediation for it, but I haven't asked in a while. I don't want to send from my home IP anway.

That is ridiculous! It is just email. I suppose if you were hosting for other people data security would be important since people's email is basically their online ID. (So stupid that)
