ICE is beating up and detaining citizens for several days and sometimes weeks with no charges. The Trump admin is blowing up boats (with people) in the Caribbean without due process or sufficient cause
And the vast majority of Americans seem to not care. That’s a major problem.

You're more tapped in to these people than me.
Why does the left seem so defeated?
Under any previous Republican administration we'd be hearing about this stuff 24/7 and there would be mass outrage.
I genuinely haven't seen this since i don't doomscroll, so if youve got some proof that'd be great.
They don’t have time to care. Just look at living costs. Once you print people into oblivion they can’t care about big picture things, they only care about putting food on the table.
I guarantee you most Americans don’t even know or understand. The media is so fragmented and if you only tune into certain outlets, none of this is being covered.
Trump has been bragging about blowing up boats off the coast of Venezuela for months. So far they’ve killed around 30 people without presenting any evidence the boats were carrying drugs. This week he authorized ground strikes inside Venezuela.
Control if the media has been consolidated into the hands of a few people and most of what is going on is suppressed from appearing in mainstream news. Even opposition news sources are afraid to be too critical because the Trump admin has been using the govt as a weapon against anyone speaking out against it.
There are plenty of outraged people and huge protests have happened, but they are minimally covered. Have you heard of the "No Kings" protest? There was one a couple months ago with 100k+ people turning out in every major city, and there's another this Saturday, but you probably won't see much reporting on it.
The only place I've found where I feel like I see what's really going on is Reddit where there are daily posts about ICE rounding up and detaining people with no warrants and no due process. Doesn't matter if they are citizens or not, they base their actions on the color of your skin. Lawful citizens and residents have been held for days and even deported.
I don't think the left is defeated, but it is being beaten down and suppressed and people are afraid. The current admin wants them to violently fight back so they can justify even more extreme measures, but they have been mostly peaceful despite all the law enforcement attempts to provoke and escalate things. Anything that even looks like a riot or property damage will be run on a loop in the media despite 99% of the rest of a protest being peaceful. Unfortunately it's a bit of a catch 22 because undisrupting peaceful protest is pretty easy to ignore.
Anyway that's how I see the situation right now. I know Reddit is considered a left wing shithole, and it may be true, but I think it's a bigger risk to let yourself be locked in to one media bubble which makes you susceptible to propaganda. I just try to remain aware of the bias and skeptical of everything I read, but when I see daily videos of peaceful people being chased down by guys in masks I have to believe that it's happening on a large scale.
This is an entirely separate issue, not at all related to what the op was talking about.

You do realize that Venezuela’s coast is the Caribbean, right? Maybe check a map. I can’t help you become informed if you’re not willing to search and read and inform yourself.
That's a good answer.
I'm sure it's part of it, but the Democrats I know IRL seem less animated than normal. That's why I said they seem defeated.
There's also the question of why this administration is able to squash resistance from the corporate press, when they weren't able to before.
We voted for it
The right tunes into to Facebook to argue about Taylor Swift and the imagined outrage stories made up by their cult leaders.
I’ve seen no hard evidence of what you’re saying
Because you say it’s happening doesn’t mean it’s happening
I assume all headlines are at least partly false or exaggerated if that is your source
If I was certain bad things were happening I would absolutely do something
Clearly i am retarded and stopped reading after the first sentence, i know about the boat stuff and find it abhorrent. I was referring to the immigration stuff. Apologies.
