There are NOT 100,000 Millionaires desperate for an escape path, much less an escape path to the United States. You have to understand those other governments around the world are nowhere near as fukt up as you claim, especially for the kind of ppl who have this much money. And the US is definitely not a destination for them if they do want to get out when there are **passports** available for a fraction of the price of this visa. They won’t even sell 1,000 of these things, much less 100,000, let alone “easily hit that target”. You need to get out of America and meet some rich foreigners; you’d know this is a joke if you did.
He always anchors to something ridiculous and gets more than people anticipated. Polymarket had it at 3-5k sold as the most likely outcome (iirc) when they first announced it months ago. I'd guess it'll be closer to 10k. We shall see (if he puts aside ego and actually releases the numbers-/big if) I'm mostly curious what the guarantees and fine print are to prevent the purchasers from being rugged by a Gavin Newsome in 3 years
He’s going to struggle to keep the numbers quiet with how many bureaucrats will have access to this information, and will leak it to generate a negative news cycle against him.
Yes, I’ll take that bet. And I’ll note 10k is only 10% of what Trump is claiming he’ll get “very quickly”; he’s not getting 10,000 multi-millionaires to donate $1M to the US for a “gold card” EB-1/EB-2 visa when they can get an EB-5 by investing $1M and keep their money.

I haven’t seen the details but I think this is a good point. If this were the only way to get a visa then it would very likely meet the target. But if the other options remain open then I think people will take the easier path

I dont think he thinks the H1B workers are going to pay, rather, the sponsoring companies, if the worker is worth it, will fork over the cash.
My career has been working with people on $300k+ - even for how good some of those people are, no company is paying $2M to get them a visa, especially when there are WAY easier and cheaper routes available.
