Trump’s just asking the foreign elite to pick a side. Just need 5,000 with 20 family & friends. Not totally crazy if you think these people trust him more than their own corrupt “protectors”
I think you’re wrong on this one.
There are NOT 100,000 Millionaires desperate for an escape path, much less an escape path to the United States.
You have to understand those other governments around the world are nowhere near as fukt up as you claim, especially for the kind of ppl who have this much money. And the US is definitely not a destination for them if they do want to get out when there are **passports** available for a fraction of the price of this visa.
They won’t even sell 1,000 of these things, much less 100,000, let alone “easily hit that target”.
You need to get out of America and meet some rich foreigners; you’d know this is a joke if you did.
I’m not.
And I’m willing to bet Sats on it.
He always anchors to something ridiculous and gets more than people anticipated.
Polymarket had it at 3-5k sold as the most likely outcome (iirc) when they first announced it months ago.
I'd guess it'll be closer to 10k. We shall see (if he puts aside ego and actually releases the numbers-/big if)
I'm mostly curious what the guarantees and fine print are to prevent the purchasers from being rugged by a Gavin Newsome in 3 years
Which foreign elites is this meant for?
He’s going to struggle to keep the numbers quiet with how many bureaucrats will have access to this information, and will leak it to generate a negative news cycle against him.
I don't live in the United States. There are 6.2 million millionaires in China alone. Just 1% of them willing to buy this would be 60k.
But heh, we can agree to disagree.
Wanna bet 10k sats they sell more than 10k before the end of 2026 ?
Ones who want to pay a million bucks to come here. What do you mean?
You can buy a politician for 6 figures, why would anyone pay 7 figures for a visa?
Yes, I’ll take that bet.
And I’ll note 10k is only 10% of what Trump is claiming he’ll get “very quickly”; he’s not getting 10,000 multi-millionaires to donate $1M to the US for a “gold card” EB-1/EB-2 visa when they can get an EB-5 by investing $1M and keep their money.
I haven’t seen the details but I think this is a good point. If this were the only way to get a visa then it would very likely meet the target. But if the other options remain open then I think people will take the easier path
I dont think he thinks the H1B workers are going to pay, rather, the sponsoring companies, if the worker is worth it, will fork over the cash.
My career has been working with people on $300k+ - even for how good some of those people are, no company is paying $2M to get them a visa, especially when there are WAY easier and cheaper routes available.
The politicians don’t own the sky or the shipping lanes
Good point about EB-5. Let's see how it shakes out. May Nostr be our witness, the bet is on.
