https://www.themarginalian.org/ It's solely written by Maria Popova, and she dedicates (massive amounts) of her own time to writing about topics from poetry to quantum physics. Her thought-provoking pieces are loaded with references to other writers, and they lead you down the best kind of rabbit hole. Also free.
