In my experience no, but suggestibility varies per person If you just want general calm, focus, that sort of thing I recommend Attention Training Technique Subjectively, I find these 12 minute courses comparable to 45 minutes of sitting meditation. Supposedly they have some scientific evidence of efficacy as well (per wiki).

interesting. Have you tried it ? I guess its about how fast the mind switch works? I've been listening to Huberman's meditation podcast and it has some elements to this. I believe in training your own brain - a lot of day to day process can be made into habits to eliminate thoughts/efforts on it and it saves space in the head for the bigger things. I've been doing this since I was a kid. Never had a problem with focus either, and i try to constantly time myself to optimise speed. My de-stress however is a slow progress from a day to 2 hrs to 20 mins - from reading a book, sleeping, meditating - but i still want to achieve that instantaneous calm in situation that requires it - and if this is one way to do it, would be interesting to try!

Yes.. Why app tho? Creepy
I downloaded the app after andrew recommended it in the “quit smoking” episode of his podcast. I didn’t tried it yet but I quit smoking anyway haha. Did you tried it?
I believe yes. Check out Andrew huberman’s episode about self hypno. Whenever someone mentions bitcoin to me, i get hypnotized with hope and optimism
It works: I recommend to learn it from a Ericksonian hypnosis therapist. It will be more efficient if you really need it. As a dentist in France, I practice hypnosis with some of my patients (with dental anxiety). I notice that these patients willingly induce themselves in auto-hypnosis during their new dental appointments. I don’t need to do hypnotic induction now for most of my “trained” patients.
