I think you're referring to confirmation bias, which is what the original post called to my mind. I'm not sure the intent was to start a conversation about the ways our brains fool us, though. ๐

๐ gotcha. I'm always looking for it. Socratic view has me questioning things I "know are true". On a long enough timeline everyone's proven right/wrong?
