The same thing that drives people over the edge to use GrapheneOS and pay for VPNs, will continue to cause nostr grow. That beings the base. The normies flood in when there is some big name that exclusively publishes here. What does it take for nostr to fulfill the original @jack vision? It is that famous person who moves exclusively to nostr, who must want to reach the nostr audience as his base, for whatever reason, maybe because of bitcoin, sovereignty or uncensorability. It could be a politician, a musician, an actor, a journalist, someone who wants to reach bitcoiners. The problem with those kinds of people today is they themselves tend to cater to normies, therefore they won't be "exclusive" to any one platform unless it is already part of their public identity. We can't expect anyone in that position to move exclusively to nostr unless they are meeting resistance everywhere else, and they will get a full-featured toolset they had elsewhere (video podcasting (tubestr), long-form blogs (talking/highlighter), livestream (nests, zap stream), AI integration (nothing yet), identity validation (wot), etc). We are very close to parity already. This is why, when people are ejected from the mainstream, we need to have a pipeline for them (Twitter/FB/bluesky/mastodon/reddit post-to-nostr porting), including a way to identify and educate them about nostr (marketing & "business development"). Right now we aren't scooping these types up. Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, etc, they should already be here. Potential leads today: Tulsi Gabbord, Jack Kruse, Matt Gaetz. Maybe add to that list dejected historians, philosophers, journalists, etc. - ones who want to cater to self-sovereign people, and those who want to bring their audience with them.

The ecosystem now is so much stronger than when it was during the jackening. We gotta be ready for when that person/people come 🫡
