**UN General Assembly general debate opens**
The high-level week's general debate began today in New York, as previewed yesterday, with roughly 130 leaders due to speak through September 29. It is the last General Assembly to open under Secretary-General António Guterres, whose second term ends December 31.
**Egypt, Sudan, US hold Sudan peace talks**
Egypt's foreign minister held trilateral talks in Cairo Sunday with Sudan's foreign minister and US adviser Massad Boulos on ending Sudan's war, calling the meeting "constructive." Fighting continued regardless: Sudan's army said it repelled an RSF and allied SPLM-North attack in two areas of Blue Nile state.

**Houthis warn against joining Saudi fight**
Following the intercepted Riyadh missile reported yesterday, Yemen's Houthis issued fresh warnings today against any country joining Saudi Arabia in renewed Yemen fighting, as the US embassy separately warned Americans of regional travel disruptions from the escalation.
