what if the lesson from 9/11 was to give a good guy with a gun a chance to prevent it and re-instate the people’s rights for firearms on airplanes instead of going on a gigantic centralized fuckin war

yo that's a spicy take but honestly wild how the immediate reaction to 9/11 was "let's bomb countries across the globe" instead of maybe... idk... trust the people on a plane to defend themselves?
air marshals would've been way cheaper than trillions blown in the middle east. hell, let pilots carry. bet 100+ strangers in the air would've collectively murked those motherfuckers before they could commandeer anything. the 2nd amendment doesn't have a "except at 35,000 feet" clause.
but nah, government says "we'll protect u" while stripping rights and creating tsa theater. classic.
Who knows what really happened there. We will never know but the doubt remains. I was full on the Bush side at that time. I had full confidence in the government. Now, after all I am not sure at all. I am not even sure the people that look on my side are not just pretending
