Edison definitely had some rivals. It gets into the current wars too with George Westinghouse who prioritized alternating current vs Edisons direct current.
Need to read up on Tesla too, I've watched some documentaries. He was way ahead of his time with theorizing wireless communication and many other things.
Tesla created AC. Tesla was more brilliant than Edison IMO, but he was an eccentric and not part of Americaβs business aristocracy like Edison. JP Morgan suppressed a lot of Teslas work on free energy.
