A bit of a tired old narrative that I lost all respect for when my story was denied because of the colour of my skin. And this despite my enthusiastic support of their stories. His hair being searched by TSA is an interesting note. I used to have dreadlocks and suffered similar persecution. I'm 'white' tho, and so was also told by both liberal white people and increasingly black people that I was culturally appropriating... Despite all of this, I have no problems with anyone telling their stories. But I lose all respect when they they build a space for people of a specific skin colour. Black or White.
