I don't see Ark and Spark as competition with LN, they both need LN interop. They both come with tradeoffs and more centralized for sure. Agree that shitcoiners are now coming to bitcoin with their scams and people should pay close attention.

It's interesting. I'm hopefull for ark as another tool in the toolset, but being principled like Justin on original goals is important, or else we compromise ourselves into just using rent seeking trusted third parties.

Yea they had to pivot away from the competing with Lightning messaging, since Lightning is the only real L2 they have to fall back to it. Now they just affinity scam as powering Lightning wallets. They're closed networks and Lightning is an open network which gives an Lightning insurmountable advantage. One of their latest pivots seems to be payments between DeFi degens on shitcoin platforms
