I wrote this back in December. Since then, they’ve bulldozed my childhood home, built an expressway through what was once a public park where all my friends and I had our birthday parties, and replaced my playground with a methadone clinic.
Opened Twitter. Took one look around. Closed Twitter. Felt like going back to your old neighborhood after all the people you grew up with are gone, and they built an ugly shopping center where you used to go into the woods at night to drink.
