You are not wrong. The privacy, and even the pseudononymous aspect of bitcoin has mostly failed. I remember Samourai Wallet...and look at what is happening there. I hear techies talking aboyt CoinJoin & Bisq, but until all this is baked in and easy, the masses won't use them. (Monero might be an answer, but not being talked about at all in main circles.) It's sad. Solutions are far from being implemented, right? I remember Greg Maxwell giving a talk on 'Dandelions'. Did that turn into Taproot? Anyway, it is discouraging.

Almost everything Greg and Adam proposed got implemented in Monero.

More people with large audiences are aware of Monero than it seems. But I agree for the most part. These things will continue to grow but the masses in general won't use them.
