Curse of a HR indeed 😂 I have 10 years of restaurant management behind me, in quite big companies, so I absolutely agree with how you see things! And your process is right. This situation is slightly different though - well, the overall structure of where I currently work is. Given it's a small business, a small group, where there has been no HR for 17 years until I got hired last year, and only recently Head Office is growing past being the owner and an ops manager, boundaries between roles are not clearly defined and until recently noone was experienced in managing employee relations 'by the book'. So the owner is trying to step away but still quite involved in ER when it's about managerial positions.
