Some very interesting points. My gut has always told me that there was something off about the way we live with cars. Most nice walkable neighborhoods look like paradise, and I do find myself wondering what it would look like to have less vehicles.

Many Americans have fond memories of college years... Or Disneyland... Or trips to Europe...
What do all of those have in common? Dense, walkable environments, with abundant social experiences and easy access to green space. Everything you need within walking distance, or perhaps a short tram ride.
Then Americans come home to the "real world" where you have to strap yourself into a 2-ton machine and operate it at Killing Speed to do so much as buy a pint of milk.
