Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their faith. Ermil openly confessed Christ during persecution, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, was tormented by witnessing Ermil's suffering. When Stratonic could no longer bear it, he confessed his own faith. They were both condemned. After torture, they were drowned in the Danube River.
Let us pray to these steadfast martyrs to intercede for us, that we may be granted strength to confess Christ always.
