Sounds like Japanese propaganda.
It was the Japanese that killed 30 million Chinese civilians in WWII.
It's the biggest civilian loss from WWII and nobody talks about it because other victims are more important.
I'm not a fan of the cultural revolution they had after the war, they erased the Han Chinese culture for the sake of "progress"
Not a fan of their reckless environmental policies either, which is what led to the famines that caused widespread starvation.
They ordered farmers to kill sparrows, the sparrows eat grain, they were trying to increase yields.
The sparrows also eat all the pest insects.
Without sparrows insects totally decimated crops, livestock and people starved to death.
But the Chinese people were well armed, the Maoists are the ones who armed them, they weren't being rounded up and sent to camps, they were just following orders of central planners like sheeple causing their own demise.
Which, when you think about it is a lot scarier than being rounded up and sent to camps.
How do you even resist when all your neighbours think they're doing it for the greater good and there is no entity to fight against directly? We can break people out of a concentration camp, we can resist military occupation.
But if the government gave everyone a gun and said, go kill all the dingoes and predatory birds to protect sheep farmers, people here would just go and do it.
